1. Introduction

The CartBooster Referral Program (“Program”) is operated by CartBooster Limited (“CartBooster”, “we”, “us”). By submitting your name and email or by sharing your referral link, you agree to these Terms & Privacy Notice.

This document explains:

  • how the program works
  • what data we collect
  • how we use and protect that data
  • your rights
  • limitations of our responsibility

2. How the Program Works

  1. You enter your name and email on a participating retailer’s website.

  2. We create a unique referral link for you.

  3. You can share this link with your friends.

  4. When a friend opens your link, we store a small referral ID in their browser so the Program can work.

  5. If your friend completes a purchase, the retailer’s site triggers a simple event telling us that an order happened.

    • We do not receive any customer information or order details.

  6. If the purchase qualifies for a reward, we email the reward to you.

3. Reward Responsibility

Reward codes are provided entirely by the retailer.

CartBooster does not issue, control, or guarantee any reward or discount.

If a code is expired, invalid, missing, or otherwise not usable, the retailer is responsible.

Any questions or disputes about rewards must be handled with the retailer, not CartBooster.

4. What Data We Collect (Referrers)

If you join the Program, we collect:

  • first name

  • email address

  • your referral ID

  • your reward status

  • your referral link activity

We only use this information to run the Program.

We do not collect any order details from your friends.

5. Governing law and jurisdiction

If you visit a landing page through a referral link:

  • we store a referral ID in your browser’s local storage, purely to apply a discount and link a reward

  • we do not know who you are

  • we do not collect your name or email

  • we do not receive any information about your order

You remain anonymous to CartBooster unless you become a referrer yourself.

6. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

  • generate your referral link

  • send referral-related emails

  • deliver rewards

  • detect and prevent fraud

  • operate and improve the Program

We do not use your email for unrelated marketing.

7. Legal Basis for Processing

Under the GDPR, we process your data based on:

  • Performance of a contract

     When you join the Program, we need your name and email to operate it.

Legitimate interest

 For fraud prevention, system security, and storing referral IDs in a friend’s browser.

8. What We Do NOT Collect

CartBooster does not collect:

  • order IDs

  • order values

  • customer names

  • customer emails

  • shipping data

  • payment data

Participating retailers do not share customer data with CartBooster.

9. Data Sharing

We only share the minimum required data with:

  • email delivery providers

  • hosting and infrastructure partners

We never sell personal data.

We never share personal data with retailers.

10. Retention

  • Referrer data: kept for up to 24 months after the last referral activity.
  • Referral IDs in local storage: automatically deleted after 30 days or after a completed referral.

 

11. Your Rights

If you joined the Program and provided your email, you can:

  • access your data

  • request deletion

  • correct your data

  • restrict processing

  • withdraw from the Program

Invitees who never provided an email remain anonymous, so most GDPR rights do not apply.

12. Program Changes

We may update or end the Program at any time.

Earned rewards will still be honoured unless fraud is involved.

13. Liability

We are not responsible for:

  • reward codes or discounts provided by retailers

  • retailer systems or content

  • technical issues caused by third-party services, browsers, extensions, or ad blockers

14. Controller

CartBooster Limited acts as an independent data controller for the Program.
